Things to Do in Labasa: attractions to See in Labasa

Labasa: Attractions and more...

Labasa is not exactly an ideal tourist town both due to the minimalist infrastructure in terms of hotels and restaurants as well as barely a few attractions to boast of. The archaeological excavations at the Wasavula Ceremonial Site and the Sugar Mill are worth a visit. The hot springs of Waiqele are also popular with visitors.

On the other hand, the surroundings have a lot to offer. The Korovatu Beach is quite popular with locals during holidays. In its vicinity is an interesting stone in the shape of a coiled snake known as the Cobra Rock; a temple known as the Naag Mandir or Snake Temple is built around the rock.

The Floating Island in the vicinity of the town of Labasa is a must visit. Lying in the middle of a pond, it is literally an island which floats along the pond with the breeze! It can be accessed if it happens to be floating close to the land.
