Fiji is endowed with forests, minerals and fish resources. In spite of having a large subsistence sector, Fiji is one of the most developed economies in the Pacific. The main sources of foreign exchange for the Fijian economy is sugar exports, remittances from Fijians working abroad and tourism.

Fiji is one of the least expensive countries in the South Pacific. The average daily cost for a tourist is approximately 130 FJD.
