Tourist Guide Lau Islands
Lau Islands in Fiji are located in the southern Pacific Ocean. This archipelago consists of about 100 small islands of which about 30 are inhabited; the total population is approximately 16,000.
The islands in the north of the group are volcanic origin while those in the south have originated from corals. Some of the islands have a topography consisting of steep limestone cliffs.
Lau experiences a typically tropical climate with warm temperatures throughout the years. The months from April to October are dry and slightly cooler while the rest of the year receives steady rainfall.
Lau is a comparatively less explored area of Fiji, and thus, the villages are still very traditional. But, with the development of more resorts, the scenario is fast changing.
