Tourist Guide Savusavu
Savusavu is a town on the island of Vanua Levu, the second largest island of Fiji. This town with a population of approximately 5,000 inhabitants has been nicknamed the Hidden Paradise of Fiji owing to its relative anonymity amongst visitors.
Most of Savusavu is covered with coconut plantations with green rolling hills forming the backdrop. The bay and the Nakama Creek along which the town lies have deep waters and are thus able to accommodate a range of boats and yachts.
When the town was founded around 30 years ago, its economy was entirely dependent on the farming of the copra crops.
The region enjoys a tropical maritime climate with mild temperatures throughout the year. Rather than the seasons the difference in temperatures is more apparent between day and night especially near the coast.
