Vaipete, a typically peaceful and slow-paced town, with a market and a few cafes, transforms into a dynamic hub of activity in the months of June and July, during the Heiva.
The blue lagoon at Bora Bora offers several opportunities to indulge in water sports—the most famous being the Shark and Ray Feeding Excursion. Snorkeling and scuba diving in and around the lagoon provide a glimpse of marine life.

Bora Bora also offers land excursions and treks. The 4 x 4 Backcountry Excursion up the hills to explore Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu and see the remnants of WWII and to experience the multicolored lagoon in its entirety is memorable.
