Agat, one of the villages on the island of Guam, is located south of Apra Harbor on the island’s western shore.
The enchanting village has a population of about 5,656 inhabitants, most of which are ethnic Chamorro—the indigenous people of Guam.
With high temperatures and humidity, Agat has a typically tropical climate. The two major seasons are the wet season from July to December and the dry season from January to June. Guam also has an exceptionally high occurrence of typhoons.
Designed by the ruthless Spanish governor Don Jose Quiroga, Agat was established between 1680 and 1684. However, in July of 1944, the little village was completely destroyed by the America Invasion.
Following the war, Agat re-established itself, in a location further south, as a centre of development and commerce.
