Tamuning: Attractions and more...
Shopping, which is duty-free, is the most popular tourist activity in Tamuning.
The village of Tumon is the most well-known province in Tamuning. While its beaches are wildlife preserves and fishing is prohibited, the crystalline water and the beach activities are enough to draw tourists. The Outrigger Guam Resort in Tumon houses the world’s longest tunnel aquarium.
There are other attractions as well, like the ride called ‘Daring Sling Shot’, where tourists sitting in a ball-shaped cage are shot upward and then brought back down.
Tamuning boasts several elegant hotels, many of which are located on its white, sandy shores. Its beaches host many aquatic sporting activities like jet skiing, trawling and fishing, snorkelling, dolphin watching, and parasailing.
Its waters are home to over 1,200 fish species, and the seabed serves as the resting place for five shipwrecked galleons. This makes it a popular diving destination as well.
