Tourist Guide Dumbea
Dumbea can be described as one of the communes located in suburbs of ‘Noumea’ in New Caledonia’s South Province. New Caledonia is amongst the overseas territories of France; within Pacific Ocean.
Dumbea’s total area comes out to be 254 sq. Km; within limits set forth in the year 1878 by Governor Guillain.
Communes of Mont Dore, Noumea, Paita, and Dumbea go on to form a metropolitan region; which is, at times, referred to as discontinuous ‘Grand Noumea’; wherein Dumbea happens to claim specific identity.
Rural tourism on the northern side and urban development on the southern side construct a combined picture as well as dynamics of common Dumbea.
As per census conducted in the year 1996, population of Dumbea was 14000. Furthermore, number of households calculated was 3364; with 4.1 persons/household. Around 57.36%25 of total population was found to be below 29 years of age.
