Mont-Dore is located in the southern most part of the Grand Terre. It is one of the largest municipalities of this region.
Mont-Dore is a magical name that has lots of treasures in it. The place is rich in cultural heritage with some of the fascinating historic sites and at the same time there are lots of activities meant for the visitor and to make their trip a memorable one.

Earlier the name of the place was Mont d’ Or that meant Mount of gold with a few particles of the gold were found. This place was established in the year 1970 with four mayors. With various urban centers and industries this place has now emerged as the urban zone of this region.
The climate of this place is quite comfortable and can be visited at any time of the year.
