Budget Night
Most of the nightlife in Auckland is concentrated in the suburbs of Viaduct Harbour, Parnell and in Ponsonby as well as in the city centre.
In Viaduct Harbour check out for a pocket friendly good time the Soul Bar, one of the busiest bars in Auckland, large and often rawkous. Soul Bar fills up with after-work Auckland drinkers, and with its outdoor seating with views over the viaduct, it's a popular choice, particularly in Summer.
Then Parnell is famous for its Wednesday night "student" drinking with cheap prices on drinks. Parnell is certainly a bar and nightlife area, with a wide range of establishments. These range from old (rich) men/young women bars, through to classy little places and even a popular Irish pub.
Here you might try The Bog Irish Bar, which is in 196, Parnell Road, Parnell, Auckland; it's a well-established Irish pub in the middle of Parnell Road, there's always a steady mix of locals having after-work drinks as well as backpackers and travellers. The food is pretty cheap and good, and of course there's always beer on tap!
