This is a wonderful experience as one rides the 945 meter Gondola on a 6 minute journey enjoying viewing the distant peaks of the Southern Alps, the crater rim of the extinct volcano, the Lyttelton Harbor and the Canterbury Plains.
One can enjoy dining at the Gondola Restaurant and buy mementos from the shop on the top of the Summit.
