Invercargill can be described as a city located in the westernmost and southernmost part of New Zealand. Moreover, it’s amongst the southernmost cities all over the world. This place enjoys the pride of being Southland region’s commercial center.
Invercargill is a home to sole indoor cycling ‘velodrome’ all over New Zealand. At present, it’s the quickest track; as far as New Zealand is concerned. Several streets in Invercargill; in major shopping district and center have been named after ‘rivers’ located in UK, Scotland, in particular. They are inclusive of main streets Tay and Dee, in addition to the ones named after Eye, Tay, Spey, Yarrow, Ness, Mersey, Thames, Don, Esk, and Tyne Rivers.
Invercargill is said to have ‘temperate oceanic climate’; similar to British Isles. Daily temperature on an average comes out to be 5.2 degree Celsius in the month of July; and 14 degree Celsius in the month of January.
