Although it is a very small city, Kaikoura may eventually become an excellent holiday destination. It is a part of the Alpine Pacific Triangle and offers mesmerizing scenic beauty. Kaikoura is a city where one can experience swimming with the dolphins and watching sperm whales, sea birds and fur seals.
History lovers will not be disappointed as well. The Kaikoura Museum has a wonderful collection of memorabilia from Kaikoura’s past. It has paintings from the Maori era and several other artefacts which would interest the visitors. The Fyffe House was the first ever house that was built in Kaikoura and is now an important tourist attraction.
Seafest, an annual food and wine festival, is also worth being a part of, if visiting Kaikoura in October. There is also quite plenty for the adventure lovers too, as one can enjoy diving with the whales, swimming, scuba diving, hiking and tramping.
