Levin can be described as a town located in Manawatu-Wanganui area of ‘New Zealand’. Moreover, it’s the biggest town all over Horowhenua district.
The name ‘Levin’ has been derived after ‘William Hort Levin’, i.e. a director with respect to ‘Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company’.
Levin seems to be one of the service centers with regards to surrounding rural areas; along with being center of ‘light manufacturing’.
As per census conducted in the year 2008, population of Levin was calculated to be 19600. Around 20% of this population was found to be beyond 65 years of age; which is definitely higher in comparison with national average.
