New Plymouth is an important city of the Tarranki region and is situated on the west coasts of North Island of New Zealand. This district comprises of New Plymouth city and several small towns. Average temperature in the afternoons during the summer season varies from 21 to 22 degree Celsius. During the winter it will vary from 13 to 14 degree Celsius. Annual average rainfall of the city is calculated at 1,432 mm. Dairy farming is the main activity of the area. Exploration and production of natural gas, oil and petrochemical can also be found in the area. The city is also the financial centre of the region as TSB bank, the only private bank of New Zealand is situated in the city.
