The rich volcanic soil of the city makes it a home of several beautiful gardens. One of the important parks in the city is the Pukekura Park which is situated in the heart of the city. The park is the venue for the TSB Bank Festival of Lights. This festival is conducted form the mid of December to the start of February. The parks seem to be lighted wonderfully in the evenings of the festival season. A lot of visitors are attracted by this festival.
