The Te Anau glow-worm caves are a unique feature not only in New Zealand but also in the world and should not be missed. The Fiordland National Park is a must-see tourist destination which, along with a varied landscape, features some of the rarest wildlife in the world. Milford, Routeburn and Greenstone are some of the excellent tramping tracks.  

Reflecting the ancient history of the Maori and the Europeans, the Te Anau Museum is a great place for history lovers with its rare collection of artefacts. Te Anau is also great for shopping as all through the week one can shop for apparel, local products and so forth at reasonable prices.
