The Solomon Islands are rich with beautiful beaches and palms, translucent
blue waters full of marine life and unique coral reefs.
Honiara is full of interesting am various things to do and visit.
Not difficult is to arrange with the Sergeant at Arms a visit to the National
Parliament building, a conical building overlooking the main town centre.
The National Museum, with its collection of customs and traditional artefacts,
photographs and historical materials and the nearby National Archives.
The Honiara Central Rove and Kukum markets are certainly worth a visit for the
particular atmosphere they offer!
The Botanical Gardens, once the national prison, are now full of lovely perfumes
and colours.
Other sites include the Red Beach on the Coastal Plain and the Henderson Tower.
About two hours walk from Honiara, the Matanikau Falls, one of South Pacific’s
most impressive waterfalls, can be admired!
