Funafuti: Attractions and more...
Funafuti’s greatest attraction is with no doubt the big Funafuti Lagoon:
14 km wide and about 18 km long is a wonderful place for both swimming and snorkelling.
If looking for souvenirs, tourists can visit the city’s market and the
Women's Handicraft Centre.
The most important building on Funafuti is the Church of Tuvalu.
Also worth a visit are the Philatelic Bureau, the University of the South Pacific
Centre and the remains of American aircraft that crashed on Funafuti during
World War II.
Funafala, the second most populated island in the atoll, can be enjoyed from
the Funafuti Island Council’s catamaran.
