Nahuel Huapi Lake
The Nahuel Huapi Lake is spread over an area of 529 square kilometers and is situated in the Nahuel Huapi National Park. It has seven branches called as Ultima Esperanza, del Rincon, machete, Campanario, de la Tristeza, Huemul and Blest. This lake is joined with smaller lakes called as Correntoso, Espejo, Moreno and Gutierrez.
Paleontology Museum
The Paleontology Museum is located on the coast of Lake Nahuel Huapi. One can view several fossils in this area which are an evidence of the numerous varieties of fauna and flora that were in existence in this region.
Asociacion Paleontologica Bariloche established this museum with an intention of preserving fossils particularly from the North West region of Patagonia in Argentina.
Here, a large number of plants, amphibians and insects are displayed. One can also view a reconstructed shark shaw that belongs to the Tertiary era dated 22 million years ago.
There is also the Archaeoptrix that has feathers like a bird, is of the size of a crow and has the reptile characteristics like a long tail and jaws with teeth.
Cerro Cathedral Ski resort
The Cerro Cathedral ski resort is situated 19 kilometers from the city of San Carlos de Bariloche. This place is famous for winter sports. The facilities of this place are constantly updated to offer the most advanced infrastructure for the tourists. Currently, there are 600 hectares of area is available for skiing which are divided into 53 well signaled runs.
