Ministro Pistarini International Airport is situated about twenty-two km SW of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It spreads over 8,586 acres of land and is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 S.A (AA2000). It is named after the politician and general Juan Pistarini, and is also known as Ezeiza International Airport, as it is located within the city. It is the country’s largest international airport and a main hub for the Aerolíneas Argentinas international routes.
An expansion project of the airport is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.
A new passenger terminal, parking lot, platform for aircrafts and a control tower are all included in the planned improvements.
The airport already offers several shopping outlets, including a duty-free one, restaurants and cafeterias and meeting points for business customers.
The three terminals of the airport support international, domestic and cargo flights respectively. Prime names include Air Europe, Air Canada, Air France, American Airlines and British Airways. Aerolíneas Argentinas is the primary domestic airline.
