Tourist Guide Cafayate
Cafayate is located in the north-western region of Argentina. This town with a population of approximately 11,700 inhabitants is one of the most important towns in the Cachaqui Valley.
Cafayate experiences a mild climate with barely any rainfall. The little that there is, occurs between December and March. The town enjoys a good amount of sunshine, and in summers, the average temperature is above 20°C.
The climate is conducive to the production of wines which has made Cafayate the country’s prime wine-producing region. The town is surrounded by vineyards, while a towering mountain range flanks it on one side.
The Incas and other natives were the early residents of the region. The town was officially founded in 1840 and constructed in a well-planned manner.
