Los Antiguos: Attractions and more...
The farms around the town, such as El Paraiso and Don Neno, are open to visitors; one can take a walk around the cherry fields and also learn about the techniques used in the production of jams, liqueurs, pickles etc. The products may be sampled and purchased directly from the producers.
Lake Buenos Aires is popular with visitors for fishing, angling or just lying around the shores soaking up the sun. The lake is known for its trout population and some interesting bird sightings.
The Cerro Zeballos in the vicinity is surrounded by sub-arctic forests which are ideal for hikers. Steep canyons and rocks, shaped oddly from years of erosion, make it an interesting landscape.
The landscape is dotted with a large number of fields dedicated to fruit, especially cherries; it is even referred to as the National Cherry Capital. Every January, the Cherry Provincial Festival is celebrated in the town.
