Tourist Guide San Juan
San Juan city is the capital of Argentina province located at the banks of the Tulum Valley. This city has a total area of 30 km2 and a population of 112,000 as per the census of 2001. The city has an elevation of 250 meters. This is a modern city famous for its broad and well arranged streets with side walks and cultivation of several varieties of trees watered by canals. As a result, the city is nicknamed as an oasis town. The city is located on the fertile valley along the rocky mountainous area. Winters are generally cold with temperatures as low as 1 degree Celsius and summers are dry and hot with a varying temperature of 25 degree Celsius to 40 degree Celsius. Low rainfall resulted in the construction of a dam across San Juan River to supply the water regularly to the city. He dam has a reservoir called Quebrada de Ullum Dam and also generates electricity for the city. Agriculture mainly depends on wine production.
