Tourist Guide Sarmiento
Sarmiento is located in the Chubut province towards the southern part of Argentina. This small town located nestled between two lakes is home to a population of approximately 10,000 inhabitants.
Earlier inhabited by nomadic tribes, Sarmiento was established when immigrants from Wales in the United Kingdom docked here at the end of the nineteenth century. A few decades later, immigrants from Lithuania followed suit.
The town is ideally located in the central corridor of the Patagonia region. It is thus a small fertile oasis in the midst of a dry region.
January and February are the warmest months with daytime average temperatures at 25°C. At the peak of winter the temperatures at night often drop below the 0° mark. Maximum rainfall occurs in the months of June and July.
