Tourist Guide Tolhuin
Tolhuin is a small town in Tierra del Fuego province of Argentina. Tierra del Fuego is the southernmost region of the country and is in fact separated from the rest of the country by a narrow strait.
Owing to its proximity to the South Pole, Tolhuin has severe winters with snowfall and very few hours of light. The summer months from December to February are pleasant with chilly spells.
This town with a population of approximately 1,380 inhabitants is one of the larger settlements in this region. It is a mountain town located along the head of the Lake Fagnano.
Tolhuin is a very new city having been founded just over 30 years ago in 1972. The several sawmills in the area are one of the main contributors to its economy.
