Tolhuin is an ideal destination for walkers and trekkers as it provides numerous tours both for a quiet stroll or a strenuous trek in the surrounding mountain slopes and forests. It is recommended to opt for guided walking tours.
There are several lakes in the region: Lake Fagnano, ideal for camping and fly fishing; Lake Escondido, in the south with opportunities to indulge in catch and release fishing; and Lake Yehouin, popular for hiking, horseback riding, camping etc.
Tolhuin is a good base to discover the Tierra del Fuego region. The town of Ushuaia in the south, which houses the Tierra del Fuego National Park, and Rio Grande in the north are some of the neighbouring attractions.
