Tourist Guide Cochabamba
Cochabamba is the third largest city in Bolivia and is also the capital of the Cochabamba Department.
The city lies in the Cochabamba valley and is surrounded by hills and lagoons. The climate is mild and pleasant with average temperatures ranging from 26°C in the summers to 17°C in the winters.
The city has a population of approximately 800,000 people. The two biggest ethnic groups are the Quechua and the Zambo-Bolivians. Other ethnic groups include Mestizos, Mulattos, North Africans and Indians.
The culture of the region is greatly influenced by the local indigenous Quechua population. The most widely spoken language is Castilian Spanish, although English is also becoming increasingly popular.
