National dishes of Bolivia include empanada salteña (diced meat, chicken, raisins, diced potatoes, hot sauce and pepper mixed in dough), lomo montado (fried tender loin steak with fried eggs, rice and fried banana), picante de pollo (fried chicken, fried potatoes, rice, tossed salad with peppers) and lechón al horno (roast pig served with sweet potato and fried plantains). Paceña, a local beer and chicha, made from fermented cereals and corn, are popular drinks.
