Huatajata gives visitors the opportunity to experience authentic Bolivian culture amidst the serene surroundings of Lake Titicaca. Visitors can relax and take in the beautiful scenery, fish in the calm waters or get their future read on cocoa leaves by a traditional witch doctors, or Kallawaya.
One of the main attractions is the Andean Roots Cultural Complex. At the Andean Eco Village, you can observe the locals living in a traditional manner and working with tools from the yesteryears, dressed in Andean attire. The Andean way of life has been preserved here for over hundreds of years.
At the Antiplano Museum, visitors can view an interesting exhibit on the history and culture of Bolivia. At the Kallawaya Museum, you can learn more about traditional methods of healing.
There is also an observatory where visitors can learn about the celestial constellations in the Southern Hemisphere.
