Visitors to Potosi can take part in one of the many guided tours to the nearby mines. However, this is a vigorous activity and not to be undertaken by the unfit and elderly.
At the La Casa de la Moneda Mint, visitors can view exhibits on gold and silver coining and many fine examples of Colonial art.
The city is also home to many beautiful churches that were constructed during the Colonial era. A visit to the Potosi Cathedral, San Benito Church and San Lorenzo Church should definitely be a part of any visitor’s itinerary.
Potosi is also home to many fine museums where visitors can learn more about the city’s history and culture. The most notable among them are the Museo de San Francisco and the Museo de Santa Teresa.
