At present, one can find the ruins of a convent instead of a convent at the Convento de Sao Bernardino de Sena. A third order of Saint Francis Chapel is annexed to it. This chapel was abandoned in 1859. In 1937, the Government needed this place to start an elementary school and an orphan asylum. This building returned to its convent form in 1946. Currently, it shelters the Culture Secretary of Angra dos Reis and several cultural activities are promoted here.
