Ilha Grande or Grand Island is known to be the largest island in Angra dos Reis. Angra is around 168 kilometers to the southwest side from Rio De Janeiro. Grand Island is around one and a half hours drive by boat from Angra. There are over hundreds of beaches in Grand Island and many can opt for boat trips or for an interesting trip to some of the expedition places. Some of the few beaches include Preta Beach or the Black Beach, Dois Rios, Lopes Mendes and many other places of interest. This is the perfect place for trekking with some beaten trails. The best time of the year for trekking includes the months from May to July and from October to November.
