Solar do Unhao is a waterfront complex which was built in the 17th century as residence for the chief justice, Pedro do Unhao Castelo Branco. This historic building has a courtyard, an aqueduct and a fountain and also a sugar mill near to it. The main building was restored for holding the Bahia’s Museum of Modern Art. Solar has many beautifully preserved heritage buildings which are centered around a lovely stone courtyard which dates back to the 18th century.
