The Jorge Amado Museum is dedicated to the memory of Jorge Amado, one of the beloved writers of Brazil who died at the age of 93 in 2001. The museum is actually his house, which has a ground floor café with numerous books, with a wide range of languages of his work which are translated. The upper floor has text heavy exhibits which tell the stories of Amado’s life and which are written in Portuguese.
