At a distance of 370 kilometers from Sao Goncalo is situated the Chapada Diamantina National Park. This is spread over an area of 1520 square kilometers. This park was established in 1980. It is located in Northeast Brazil in the State of Bahia. In the Brazilian language, Chapada means a territory with steep cliffs particularly on the verge of planina. In this park one can find diverse fauna and flora.
