If you're travelling to Brazil, São Paulo is the right place to be if you get tired of laid-back beaches; the city thrives and it's the financial hub of the country. It's also Brazil's most cosmopolitan city with a top rate nightlife and flourishing art and cultural scenes.
And São Paulo has a lot to offer. Even if the city itself is a kind of a concrete jungle, it hosts the most beautiful and delightful beaches; the top beach is Santos Beach, partially located on the island of San Vicente and partially on mainland: it's 40 miles southeast of the city (also linked by rail). Santos beachfront is aligned with the most fantastic beach frontage gardens worldwide known; they strech for miles! It also hosts the Coffee Museum and a Soccer Memorial dedicated to São Paulo's greatest player, Pelè.
Another top beach to dig for a different atmosphere is the resort of Praiado Encanto (meaning Charm Beach). It's a quiet place chosen by those who are looking for more peaceful areas. On top of this, it has such a generous natural scene, so well kept by the people here! This beach is an inviting place also to enjoy a pick-nick day or a walk discovering its spectacular nature!
