This town never fails to show its architectural development to its guests and visitors. The old town of the city is termed as the ancient architectural site of Chile. There are a number of beautiful churches scattered all over the city. The Church, Cathedral of La Serene is declared as a historical monument since the last two decades. It is designed as per the needs of the French architect, Jean Herbage. There is also a big temple here and is constructed as per the neoclassic style. There are also beaches that are close to this town namely the beach of ‘Avenida Del Mar’ form one of the most crowded places in this town. This beach is linked to three other beaches and that makes it one of the best must-visit sites in this area. The waters here have good torrents and are not recommended for swimming. A festival named the ‘La Serene Song Festival’ is organized here annually and the response is overwhelming, from the residents as well as the tourists.
