Salar de Atacama can be described as the biggest salt flat all over Chile. It’s situated at the distance of 55 Km on the southern side of San Pedro de Atacama. It’s surrounded by hills and doesn’t have drainage outlets. The eastern side is enclosed by major chain of Andes; whereas on the western side lies ‘secondary’ mountain range known as ‘Cordillera de Domeyko’ (of Andes).
