The great mining sites and to watch the miners perform the tedious task is worth a look out. One of the most famous mines here is the ‘Chañarcillo silver mine’ where the best quality of silver is dug out, filtered, mixed with some chemicals and molten off to give the desired shape it requires. The town has lush green vegetation and is soothing for the eyes. The ‘Jungle of Copaipo’ is also present here which can be useful to adventure lovers and enthusiasts. There are also archaeological remains that are found here that are interesting and are the most loved spots of the tourists. The fossils are proof of the human activity, which is believed to be more than ten thousand years earlier. The other locations to look out for are the Mineralogic Museum and the ‘Plaza de Armas’, which are a few heritage sights. Also the wooden railway station is a novelty for most of the new comers to this town and are considered a must watch venture in this part of the town.
