Rapa Nui National Park is considered as a world heritage site and is situated on Easter Island in Chile. This park is further divided into seven sections. These are Rano Kau in Orongo, Puna Pau, Rano Raraku, Anaken, Ahu Akivi, Costa Norte and Hanga Roa. Chile at first declared this Island of Rapa Nui as a National Park in 1935 and in 1996; the UNESCO designated the island a world heritage site. The park boundaries have been varied on many occasions in order to return the land to the islanders.
