Rio Simpson National Park is a protected park that is spread over 40,452 hectares. Here, one can view a rugged terrain with mountains having an altitude of 1600 meters. The Huemul (Patagonian Deer) resides in the Eastern Sector in the rocky landscape of the foothills of the Huemul and Andes Mountains. The Puma lives higher up in the mountains in Summer and comes down to low ground in Winter. Other species which can be seen are a large variety of wild ducks, queltehues, bandurrrias, guina, zorro and pudu.
