Santa Cruz: Attractions and more...
Apart from its numerous tiny artefact shops selling wicker crafts, Santa Cruz is also home to some of the following attractions.
The Viewpoint of the Virgin, or ‘The Virgin of the Purest One’, is located about 5 km to the west of Santa Cruz. The statue rises 5 m in height and dates back to the 1960s. The Virgin watches over the beautiful Colchagua Valley with her arms open, signifying a protective gesture over the land and its people.
The Train of Vino is a project that has restored the use of the railroad between San Fernando and Peralillo around the vineyards. The Vine Inn is a colonial structure that is located at the centre of the town and is surrounded by beautiful gardens.
Santa Cruz also boasts of some fine restaurants that offer the best wines of the region, at an affordable cost. Several restaurants offer wine tasting in order to enhance the overall ambience of the meal.
