Red House is also known by the name Casa Colorada and is a historic colonial house situated in Santiago. At one side of this house, one can find a museum which is open and at the other side, the place where Chile got its independence in 1810, when the Declaration of Independence was signed. This historical house includes the Museo de Santiago, where one can get an inside knowledge on historic background of the city. In Santiago, this is the best kept colonial residence till date. Built in 1769 by a wealthy businessman, Don Mateo del Toro Zambrano, it is a two storied building having a stone covered façade.
