The Santiago Metropolitan Park Zoo covers an area of 722 hectares at St Christopher Hill. Inside the park, there is 5.6 hectares spread zoo, which was founded in 1925. The Metropolitan Zoo of Santiago is situated in the metropolitan park and is home to 158 species and a thousand animals. Here, children can enjoy watching and learning more about many different animals. The zoo can be easily reached by a cable car or a funicular.
Moreover, the zoo offers exhibitions, seminaries, samples and talks too. The park is known as the biggest park in Chile and is home to the Forestall Park, the Sculptures Park and the Plaza de Armas. Other point of interest in the Metropolitan Park Zoo is a picnic zone, two swimming pools, restaurants, a chapel, children play ground zone and many more amenities.
