The Mauricio Van de Maele is located at a distance of one mile from Valdivia and a must visit form those who are interested in city’s history. It was founded on 17th February 1956 by the Austral University. It was originally built by German colonist Maurice Van de Maele who was committed himself the preserve the Tenth Region Historical Heritage. The house was built in 1870 was declared Historical Monument in 1981.
