Vina del Mar is the fourth largest city in Chile. The Spanish translation of this name is “The Garden City.” The local name of this city is La Ciudad Jardin. Vina del Mar is basically a coastal city and Chilean commune that is located in Valparaiso Province, Valparaiso region. The city is a section of the Greater Valparaiso region, which is the second largest conurbation in the nation. An annual clay-court tennis tournament is hosted in this city. Other attractions of the culture of the city are an annual music festival called as Festival Internacional de la Cancion de Vina del Mar.
The population of Vina del Mar as per the 2002 census was 286,931.
This place has a Mediterranean type of climate. The minimum temperature in January varies from 15 to 18 degrees Celsius and in July alters from 9 to 14 degrees Celsius. Rainfall takes place usually in winter and autumn. July experiences a maximum rainfall of 107 millimeters.
