Viña del mar lies on the coast of Chile and is one of the country’s most fashionable and luxurious resort towns. The city is situated between the majestic Andes Mountains on the east and the Pacific coast on the west. This city, with a population of about 331,000, is popularly called Viña or Garden City.
Viña del mar’s fine golden beaches (including the famous Reñaca Beach), grand avenues lined with palm and banana trees and manicured lawns, make it an ideal place for a relaxing vacation. Although its popularity has brought it a number of sleek, modern buildings, it still retains its colonial charm.
Viña’s pleasant Mediterranean climate encourages all-season visits, even during the rainy winters. The sea breeze tempers the summer temperature, which ranges between 10 and 22 degrees C.
