The Medellin Museum of Modern Art is situated only five minutes from the center of the city. It was established in 1980. In the interior are expansive salons that have natural as well as artificial light. Photographs, sculptures, pictures and other varieties of modern art by Colombian as well as international artists of repute are exhibited here. There is a permanent collection of artists like Hugo Zapate, Leonel Gongora, Olga Almaral and Debora Arango.
