If all you know about Bogota is the distressing news you hear on TV or read in the newspapers, you're missing the charm, history and culture of this fascinating country.
I went to Bogota a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with the city. I took some city tours and extreme sports activities and had an incredible time.
When booking an hotel you should stay downtown in La Candelaria neighbourhood if you're interested in history and culture, or in the north ( near la Zona Rosa) if interested in nightlife, malls, etc..
