Cali: Attractions and more...
Between Christmas and the new year, the Cali Fair takes place, highlighted by myriad street activities. Around the same time, the Bullfighting Festival, a landmark event in Colombia, is held in the Plaza Monumental de Canaveralejo. The Feria Artesanal in June unleashes a treasure trove of handicrafts.
The Tertulia Museum, a famous venue for several exhibitions; La Merced, the oldest church in the city housing 2 museums; and the Cali Zoo, home to an astounding number of species of wildlife are attractions tourists throng to. Plaza de Caicedo, the main square in downtown Cali, is awash with travellers relishing Chontaduro, a local preparation of peach palm fruit and sipping Jugo de lulo, a savoury fruit juice.
Glimpse the diverse crowd at Blue Amigos Restaurantes over supper, savour the fish at Los Girasoles, pledge allegiance to your favourite team at Fanatico’s Sports Bar, and round off the evening with the perfect salsa step at Tin Tin Deo.
